Loons are awesome, and crazy. Apparently they are very territorial, and only a couple (as in, a literal couple) can live on one lake at a time, otherwise they'd fight all the time (or kill each, not sure). The sound they make, echoing across the lake at dusk is simply just the best ever. If you've never heard it, youtube it. We were able to canoe up to this bad boy/girl, and snap a few shots.
