In my quest to create an NFT collection of #dancingwiththestars I knew I wanted to shoot at one of my favorite places in Utah, and that is Knoll's recreation area. It's about a 90 minute drive and boasts some incredibly dark skies. Before the stars came out we shot at blue hour, which is my second favorite time shoot, I just love the blue and purple tones in the sky after the sun has set known as the Belt of Venus.
It's a tough time to shoot action because the light fades quickly and you have to keep your shutter speed up to freeze motion. This means I have to shoot wide open at ƒ/1.8 on my 85mm, and I have to raise my ISO higher than I normally would, but that nice soft light is just 👌.
