Good day dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my contribution and hope you had an exciting weekend and a good start to the new week! In this article, I would like to talk a little about art and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.
Today I had a great opportunity to photograph a lake with an enchanting and clear color and in the background there is a panorama of mountains. Even the light reflections on the surface create an additional mood and I would like to use these pictures to go into the history of water in art. This element is an important part of numerous art epochs and has been found in art for thousands of years and for a long time it was often associated with religious events. Water has the advantage that it usually reflects the blue skies, the sun or clouds and it leaves a lot of room for imagination and playfulness and in painting a rough distinction is made between flowing or standing waters. One of the biggest difficulties in painting is probably to represent the right reflection and one of the biggest influences is the right light and often waters are often depicted together with cliffs, beaches or lake promenades and to make the artworks more authentic birds or other animals are often integrated into the works. Mythology also has a great influence and in painting legends of certain events that happened on the high seas are often depicted and it happens that you see gods such as Poseidon or mythical creatures such as or nymphs or mermaids. As an element associated with creation as well as fertility, water is often depicted as one of the most important parts of nature without which the world would not be the same and some art epochs have also emerged which were created on the basis of water such as marine art, which is was created in 17 century and at that time the Netherlands was one of the strongest powers on the sea which also strongly influenced trade and it was especially about presenting ships or slaughters at sea and after the Netherlands this genre also spread to other countries.
The representation of water also often goes hand in hand with the subconscious and the color blue got a strong effect on the brain and can ensure that we calm ourselves or feel more alive. Often it is also about addressing real world problems in works of art that are related to water such as hardship or suffering on the high seas such as shipwrecked and in addition to painting, it has shaped numerous other types of art. Many literary works such as fairy tales have emerged that have dealt with water and also for photography as well as music or many more, this element is of great importance and also much associated with symbolism. Water is also widespread in architecture and often entire parks are built at which fountains or other buildings that are operated by water should definitely not be missing. The representation of art can be viewed in a very diverse way and often water is also represented in the form of ice, snow, rain, fog or other forms and you can also vibrate water with the help of various influences such as sounds and if you look at the resulting results under the microscope, you will quickly be amazed.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about art! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
