I have been away traveling for work so have not had a chance to post up here on Steemit. I did manage to spend a flying visit to Chicago as I was transiting though this past weekend. Crammed a fair bit of the city in a very short amount of time and only got drenched with rain once. Some amazing architecture in the city. This shot is looking over Chicago river at sunset.
Historically the river flowed into Lake Michigan however due to increasing issues with the Chicago sewerage system flowing into the same lake that they drew drinking water from in 1900 an engineering project completely reversed the flow of the Main Stem and South Branch of the river using a series of canal locks such that it flowed into the Mississippi Valley river system.
Crazy backlog of photos just got longer . But itβs a nice problem to have.
