Some of the Waters of Oak Creek are diverted from the main flow by a crack in the bedrock which over time will grow larger. Oak Creek has been cutting its way through solid and fractured rock, some from fault lines for millions of years. There's many places where the creek flows right over smooth bedrock, like the bottom of a swimming pool.
