Excellent tutorial for lighting photography! I would just add a few tips, is that's okay:
- If your lens has built-in stabilization, turn it off when on a tripod. Silly thing to forget and can ruin a shot when tries to find and compensate for shake when there is none
- Use the 'Timer' feature to prevent camera shake when pressing the shutter release button (it'll add that extra bit of sharpness)
- Combine 'Bulb' mode with time-lapse, if possible, to continuously shoot without missing a thing
Bonus tip: Turn off noise reduction. Some cameras' software mistake stars for noise and subsequently removes them.
Hope it helps!
