Ahhh...it's so good to be back.
We have been exploring Banff National Park and Canmore these past few days. We have had some beautiful weather and there is even some aurora action in the forecast. Here's some of my favourite spots so far.
Two Jack Lake
I have been wanting to shoot at Two Jack Lake for quite some time. What a spot! I'd love to get back here at night for some astrophotography.
Lake Minnewanka
Minnewanka looks awesome at the moment. There are thin sheets of ice still blanketing the lake and the colour is so striking. It won't be long until it has fully thawed.
Lake Louise
The lake is still mostly frozen so no turquoise coloured water just yet. The glacier that feeds Lake Louise is an amazing sight though.
Castle Mountain
A long exposure shot of the fog rolling through the valley. Can you see how this mountain got its name?
Mount Rundle
We had this amazing view right from our campground. We camped for a couple of nights on top of Tunnel Mountain. I could not believe the view of Mount Rundle and the Bow Valley.
Johnston Canyon
I love this secret (not so secret) spot at Johnston Canyon. It seems like every man and his dog knows about this spot now. But I still had a brief moment for this selfie.
And does anyone know if this little guy is a chipmunk or a squirrel?
Rundle Forebay Reservoir
When the conditions are just right, you can get some really nice reflections of Mount Lawrence Grassi on the Rundle Forebay Reservoir.
Grassi Lakes
The hike up to Grassi Lakes is beautiful. The views along the way are excellent and the lakes themselves are a stunning colour.
Three Sisters
I love this quiet spot along Policeman Creek. The Three Sisters are three iconic peaks named Faith, Charity and Hope. Or Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister.
We've got a few more days here and I'm looking forward to sharing more pics with you soon.
