This afternoon I got off work early, so I decided to walk around the woods near our office and get some photography. I struck gold! I was able to capture at least 4 different butterflies while walking around. The shots were taken with a Canon 80D camera with a 75 - 300 mm lens on the macro setting.
The next shot was one I found quite interesting. Somehow, the butterfly's wings had become tattered. Whether they had been stuck in something or a predator had attacked them, I'm not too sure. The likelihood that a predator had attacked them is rather high though, for the butterflies were about the size of a silver dollar.
Here were some more shots that I was able to capture at close range.
Truly a lucky day when it came to capturing these majestic creatures. Nature is truly a wonderland.
