Callistemons are an Australian native shrub that can be trimmed to shape after flowering. Captain Cook has smaller foliage and is tighter and smaller in habit than other varieties. It is a common shrub in Australia. In fact, you can easily find it in residential areas. This large bright red bottlebrush shaped flowers give a stunning composite display of colour in spring and summer. They are also echanting to nectar-feeding birds and insects.
