I've seen a thousand photos of this place. For good reason though.. it's beautiful. It's also incredibly accessible (located just off of the highway). A few steps from the car and you're rewarded with this view. The lake is part of the North Cascades National Park, my favorite park in the country. The park itself isn't nearly as accessible as this viewpoint. Everything requires hiking and you can go on adventures as epic as you please. I've been on many backpacking trips here and plan on doing many more this summer.. there is seriously so much to explore in this area. Diablo Lake is but a taste in the grand scheme of things here, but it's a good one.
