"Go outside.
Don’t tell anyone
and don’t bring your phone.
Start walking and keep walking
until you no longer know the road
like the palm of your hand,
because we walk the same roads
day in and day out,
to the bus
and back home
and we cease to see."
--Charlotte Eriksson
Although it still feels like summer
in the Midwest where I live
(Wednesday's high temperature hit 91°F),
the days have become increasingly shorter,
and the sun sets in the West before 7 pm.,
each night it disappears a minute earlier.
"A Kaleidoscope of Colors"
This is the view when I walk across the street
from my my house. We are blessed to have
open fields and unobstructed views of the sky.
"Forevergreen"
Rich, emerald colored evergreen bushes grow
in front of my home,
flourishing in the sunshine,
untarnished by the persistent heat.
The leaves are surprisingly soft to the touch
and provide the perfect protected habitat for
songbirds to make their nests and raise their young.
"Perseverance"
The colorful lichen and moss camouflage the new growth.
Though most of the limbs had to be cut from our tree after
suffering storm damages, it continues to do what trees do naturally...grow back.
🍃Do you see it?🍃
"Spiderwort"
No walk outside my home would be complete
without at least one flower photograph to post!
This hearty blue morning bloomer is called
a Spiderwort Flower
and they are incredibly low
maintenance perennials!
