Buenos Dias Steemians!
I am back at it again with hosted by
as there is a saying that goes - "Third time's a charm".
This week is all about challenging oneself to stick to a routine.
As mentioned in previous post here. For this week's challenge routine would be posting photos in accordance to 's daily themes.
Hence, I would like to present you Thursday's theme : #colourfulphotography!
This picture was taken in Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur which is about 15 minutes from KL Sentral (one of the busiest LRT stations in Kuala Lumpur). I've captioned my post today "The Zodiac Temple" because this is one of the few temples in Malaysia that has statues of all the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals.
According to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, I'm born in the Year of the Pig (born in Year 1995). At most times, this would be the same zodiac for those that have been born or being born with a 12-year interval from the year mentioned (Please correct me if I'm wrong hehe). Each year represents a specific animal in order with the animals that won the match.
The match referred to - For more info, read here.
There are numerous versions of how the Chinese Zodiac came about. But at most times, the Chinese Zodiac's history is linked to a race (in other words, match) to the Emperor's party, whereby the Rat won first place. Hence, the Chinese Lunar Calendar starts off with the Year of the Rat and concludes with the Year of the Pig for being last (based on a myth, it was said that the pig overslept whilst the race was ongoing).
It is interesting how this has been made tradition and guidance since ages ago to a vast number of people in determining their luck on wealth, love, relationship, business and many more. However, this depends on how superstitious a person chooses to be (one could either BELIEVE it or NOT).
