The beautiful scenery around Mount Cook National Park is hard to beat, but conservation of its environment is essential - now more than ever. Andy, a friendly and very knowledgeable DOC member, informed us about the recent recession of the glaciers in that area, and all of the threatened/endangered endemic species in that area due to over-farming and excessive tourism. With that in mind, I hope you enjoy these images of what is left of the incredible landscape surrounding Mount Cook.
