I have posted mostly stark contrasting black and white shots for my Snapshots of Nepal so far. Somehow they seem to best show off the facets of the country's drama and atmosphere that I felt while I was there.
That doesn't mean Nepal isn't colourful... Quite the opposite!
Colourfully dressed children being ushered to the entrance of Patan, one of the ancient Newar cities of Nepal, as part of a festive ceremony
The main stupa at the Swayambhunath Monkey Temple in Kathmandu
Souvenir shops that line the streets in Bhaktapur, an ancient Newar city outside Kathmandu
The many colours of Nepal ~ colourful prayer flags decorate the streets around the Boudhanath Stupa of Kathmandu... See, even the buildings are colourful!
Finally, seen in Patan, buildings richly decorated with golden structures, such as intricately molded doors and statues...
I visited Nepal, three years back, before the devastating earthquake hit in 2015. I'm glad I did. Here, I have shared some snapshots I took while I was there. I'll be posting more of these as we move along...
