Today's topic is intimate landscapes.
I don't know who coined the term or if it's even a "thing" but landscapes photographers know it as the detailed part of the scene where it is separated from the grand vista. LIke going macro without going macro - if that even makes sense.
It's very easy to spot a grand vista. Just look around and include as much as you can in the frame with the soaring mountains with a stream trickling down. But spotting an intimate landscape is little more work. It requires some culling and choosing what to exclude in the composition.
