Naga Saints also known as Aghoris. The Indian Sub-continent are full of great mysteries behind its exquisiteness. One of the mystery which is not revealed yet its the life of Aghoris i.e. the Naga Sadhus. Naga Saints seems to be a great follower of Lord Shiva. They also entitled themselves as a Shiva Bhakth. Nagas are mainly originated from the land of faith and mysteries know as Varanasi that is situated in the State Of Uttar Pradesh.
Now, Many of them asks about the Naga Sadhus and there lengendary world. I will try to clear some of the little questions. So Now begin........
Who are Naga Sadhus ???
Hinduism is the dharma that advocates peaceful living taking into cognizance human relation with nature. The cycle of birth and death is only medium for the soul to finally reside in human body to elevate the conscious level to reach Bhagwan (God).
So mainly the Naga Sadhus where come into force at the time of Mughal Empire when the Mughals where looting the Golden Bird India and raping the indian women. So by following the very strict rules of becoming the Naga Sadhus are started. They promised that at any time if our motherland and religion where harmed by the enemies. We will be there to save them. Many times when India is facing huge seriois problems SAINT community came in front and saved the country. So , it's truth that they are the saviours of motherland too.
Nagas can be rarely seen in India too. Because they only appear at the time of Ardha Kumbh and Maha Kumbh melas.
Ardh - Kumb Mela :- It only comes at once in the duration of six years and there Nagas can be seen. They come there to do worhship of Mother Ganga ( Ganga River). This Ardh kumbh has its own great value and essence . Tourists visits the Ardh kumbh which resides at the place known as Allahabad. Nagas have its own value of worshipping and they believe that the Lord Shiva will be pleased from their faith and worship in it.
The process of becoming a Naga Sadhu is so hard that rarely in lakhs some one passes out the process. To become a Naga Sadhus
You have to leave your family and forget them it's the basic rule.
Then you have to prove that you really want to become a Naga Sadhu and if the Sankaracharya (Head of Naga) will give the order that you have the power to become the Naga Saint or Not.
After getting the permission and getting into the next level i.e. performing his/her own last rites (Funeral) .
This funeral is done by you and it's a process which is done that you should come to know that from now you are dead for the world and family. The only famliy or friend is yours that will be one and only Lord Shiva.
After that there is process called as Linga Bhanga Where in this process your penis will be disabled and after that it will be used only for urination and that also if your guru (Head Of Community) will give permission then only.
