Today me amd my husband visited Fuku-Bonsai. Fuku Bonsa is located at Kurtistown on the Big Island Hawaii.
Bonsais at Fuku Bonsai is different than Bonsai you see in Japan. David, who is the owner of Fuku bonsai along with his wife, cultivated this particular Hawaiian style bonsai because Japanese style Bonsai wouldn't grow in Hawaii due to the unique climate being so different. We saw many beautiful Bonsai and also David shared his knowledge and passion about his Bonsai.
Here are some 'Dragon' bonzai. They are called Dragon because of the twisting trunk and branches that resemble the dragons coils...
These bonai are called 'Sumuo' style because they resemble the the compact robust form similar to a sumo wrestler...
David has so much knowledge of how to grow Hawaiian style bonsai and he likes to share his knowledge.
These little ladies have taken more than three years to get to this point... bonzai growing is not for the impatient...
