.......trip to Palakkad......... 
(peacock spotted at parambikulam tiger reserve the reason why we can't spot is because of our time we entered in around 10am so all animals and birds were left away.it is better to enter in the forest at early morning)

I visited one of the district lesser known sanctuaries parambikulam tiger reserve.parambikulam is spread over. 643 square kilometres of wilderness. The pleasant drive to the sanctuary took as past quaint villages and endless rows of coconut tree sawje Parambikulam I was very pleased to see that forest department officials checked all vehicles for liquor, ammunition,and other il eval objects before allowing us into the reserve to drive into parambikulam, surrounded by great wilderness, would have been Serena,. I first sighting in the jungle was of a nilgiri langue up a tree.the long tailed monkey went about it's business unconcerned as we looked on in awe .a little further down the road l spotted a rat snake glittering across road the bus slowed down to allow the snake to cross and it scampered off to the road, over rock,and out of sight. I could photograph the beautiful parambikulam wilderness from a height . I looked down on a canopy of dense jungle and the serene waters of a lake within the Reserve. Further on the safari I saw peafowl aplenty, a langur, some spotted deer, a barking deer fawn that skipped away from us, butterflies in a dance of love and dragonflies ruling the skies. I also noticed a striking pair of dogs that must have some wolf in them. 
( kannimarthe sanctuary has a variety of trees mainly teak,neem, rosewood and sandalwood.even the oldest ever Teak tree, kannimar teak exist here.it is about 450years old and a girth of 6.8 meater s(22ft) and height of 49.5 meters ( 162ft).it won the mahavriksh puraskar given by the Indian government) ******************************************Lunch was a simple home-cooked meal on banana leaves at a small restaurant in the village, and then the safari vehicle started its journey back to the Park gate. Once outside the Park gate, we were surprised to see that our safari adventure hadn’t ended. I came across a herd of spotted deer leisurely crossing the road ahead of us. I saw a few Nilgiri langurs up in the trees, as a final farewell from the wild.
