I took these photos in 2003 at The Wanda Mines. The Wanda Mines are located about 35 miles south of Iguazú Falls in the province of Misiones, Argentina.
A local guide will lead you past fantastic geodes embedded in basalt to the caverns where amethyst is extracted. The mines also contain topaz, quartz, jasper, rock crystal and agate.
