Pendopo or pendapa is derived from Sanskrit mandapa {which means "supplementary building"}, is part of the building located in front of the main building. This structure is mostly owned big house or palace, it is usually in front, the main building residence of residents.
Pendopo is usually a building without walls with many pole/pillars "but the structure of the pendopo began to shift, Pendopo Garut, for example, surrounded by a glass window frame". Its main function is as a place to receive guests. However, because the pavilion is usually large, the building is also functioned as a meeting place, dance training, or community meetings, and so forth.
Pendopo Garut located in front of the main building which became the home office of Garut regent. The main building is called the Pamengkang building. Perhaps because that looks in front of the pendopo, then it is this additional building more popular to call the residence of Garut regent.
Pendopo Garut is located on Jl. Kiansantang No.2, Regol, Garut City, Garut regency, West Java.
