Discussing a bit I know from the life of a butterfly.
*** Considering they are cold-blooded animals, they can not control their own body temperature. Air temperature around it has a big impact on their body's ability to function. If air temperature falls below 13ºC, butterflies can not move, can not escape predators as well .When the air temperature ranges at 28 º-38 º C, butterflies can fly easily. A cold day requires the butterflies to warm up on their flying muscles either by shaking or bathed in sunlight. Even sun-loving butterflies can also overheat when the temperature is above 38ºC, which will make them look for a cool place to cool his body.***
And! in a cocoon.
*** growing butterfly waiting to hatch with its wings covering its body. When he comes out of the cocoon [the womb], he welcomes the new world with wings that are wilted and crumpled. The butterfly must immediately pump the body fluids into his wing vein to develop him. When his wings reach full size, the butterfly must rest for several hours to let his body dry and harden before flying for the first time.***
Butterflies just once out of the cocoon's nest and it will become an adult. A butterfly only has a few weeks to live. During that time, it will focus its energy on two things: eating and mating. Some of the smallest butterflies, purple, can last only a few days. Long-lived butterflies in adult forms, such as monarchs or mourning cloaks, can live up to 9 months or more. Let's see the picture below.
