Hey everyone..
First I wanted to say thanks for support yesterday when I shared my fathers image and it made around $100.
I had originally posted a picture the day before of his and tried to introduce him to the community and it made less than $2 and bummed me out.. And when I posted his other picture the other day, I wasn't necessarily trying to guilt trip anyone.. But I admit I was bummed that his post got lost when I see so much other junk that makes a lot of money and isn't nearly as valuable in my opinion.
So.. I wasn't meaning to create drama or whatever, but.. Due to the fact that you all did come through and ended up giving him a warm welcome the second time around.. I think it's much more likely he will sign up himself.
As I mentioned in the original post, he still might not just because of health issues, he has muscular dystrophy and it's hard for him to use keyboards and mouses and stuff for too long.. BUT.. I think after yesterdays response, there is a much better chance of him trying it out. :)
I'm going to try to talk to him later tonight and tell him about what happened and try to explain how sometimes it's hit and miss, and one post that's good might get ignored, and another might get $100 like what happened.
I guess we'll see how it goes! But thanks either way for actually showing him a good welcome and for showing interest in having him be a part of the community. That makes me feel better about the community as well.. And I've been here for close to a year now, so I'm not necessarily new to how things work.. I've been watching and studying and I try to be fair and honest with my opinions.. And this makes me feel better about it.. I admit. Seeing his first post get practically ignored wasn't easy. I think he's a legend.. And one of the best photographers in history in my opinion.
I also realize now after the fact that if I had included the #introduceyoruself tag he probably would have got a much better response, but I guess I just forgot and didn't think about it since I wasn't introducing myself.
So anyways.. Glad to see that that happened and hopefully he ends up signing up with his own account, but if he does not.. I will still post his images because I got permission.
In regards to this image above.. It's called Chapel Rainbow.. I think the camera was a 35mm.. But I'm not really sure! Either way it's one of the most amazing rainbow shots I've seen.. And I'm honored to share it with you all. :) Enjoy.
