কাঁঠাল এর বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম Artocarpus heterophyllus . এটি এক প্রকারের সবুজ রঙের সুমিষ্ট গ্রীষ্মকালীন ফল। এটি বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় ফল। বাংলাদেশের সর্বত্র কাঁঠাল গাছ পরিদৃষ্ট হয়। কাঁচা কাঁঠালকে বলা হয় এঁচোড়। কাঁঠাল গাছের কাঠ আসবাবপত্র তৈরীর জন্য সমাদৃত।
