(Brighton Lakes, look closely to see Lake Martha in the middle)
The Brighton Lakes are located in the Uintah-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. It is a 3.5 mile hike for any who want to see the stunning beauty. I am a big fan because I get a three for one! The hike is relatively easy, especially if you only hike to the first lake. But after seeing these photos you would be crazy not to visit all of them.
These photos were taken a few summers ago while hiking with my brother, his wife, their two girls, my niece and her husband. It was a very enjoyable day in the mountains of Utah with the family.
The first lake you reach is Lake Mary (actually a reservoir). This is the largest of the three and a favorite among many because of the granite rock formations. Most people will stop here to enjoy a picnic, especially those with small children.
(Lake Mary, notice the granite?)

Not far past Lake Mary you will reach Lake Martha. It is the smallest of the three.

Next, after some elevation gain you will come to Lake Catherine. This is my favorite lake because not as many people make their way up this far. Therefore, you can enjoy your picnic lunch here in peace and take in the awe of the surrounding peaks without distractions. This is where we stopped to refresh ourselves.

For those who want to capture all three lakes in one shot you’ll need to ascend a little higher. At this point only my niece, her husband and I took the challenge. As you can tell it was worth it.

(This view is seen if you keep hiking on the trail after the view of all three lakes)
These photographs only give you a small glimpse of the grandeur of these breathtaking lakes. I would highly recommend a visit of your own or if you need a tour guide I'd be happy to visit again. You won't be disappointed!
Have a great Friday and let me know what lake is your favorite!
