This is a standout amongst the most difficult pictures I've made, and presumably one of my best. I generally take the seat by the window on flights, and I'm continually watching out. In transit over from Sri Lanka, at one point they turned the cabin lights out, and there it was gazing me right in the face. I took my camera and held it against the window and continued attempting to get it. Even the most minor movement would ruin a long exposure, for example, this. A couple endeavors later, through a smooth fix, this is the shot i got. What a delightful world we live in :)
Now why are the stars not moving but rather the lights on the ground are. Basic science, relative separation:) at 100% crop you can see some development in the stars, however that is the most ideal result i accomplished before my batteries ran out. How was it so steady, i held it against the glass, concealed the window with my sweater to keep away from light break, and my travel sack beneath it for some stature. Shot on noiseless shade to maintain a strategic distance from any shake :) there you go.
