Some people may know that my son has a few additional needs, ADHD being one of the labels that the doc's like to use. Basically he is hyperactive to the extreme! So how do we calm him down on the day's when it is getting too much for him? We take him to the woods and let him climb trees to burn that extra energy off of course! haha
Even though he is now 13, he still loves being outdoors (once we have prized him away from his XBox). There is nothing he loves more than running around and climbing things, so what better way to spend the day than tree climbing.
ADHD is just one of the issues he has to deal with on a daily basis and it can be all consuming. We have tried medications and to be honest, they cause more issues so we have found that when it all gets too much, the best way to deal with it is to let him be hyper outdoors in a way that is fun and will also allow him to tire himself out.
Here are a few pictures I took of him enjoying the great outdoors! :)
If you have any questions about ADHD, feel free to ask. Lots of children have various degrees of ADHD so each child is different, but if I can offer help and advice to any parent who is struggling, I would be glad to help :)
