One of the things i like about the photography is that no matter how hard you may try to copy an image done by somebody else the result is always unique and different. When you are learning photography it is a good thing to practice by doing Reversed Engineering. You can read more about it in the link i have provided or in short it is an attempt to recreate final result by taking original and analyzing how it was done. In many cases it is not a very ethical thing to do, especially in manufacturing industry, or making forgeries of famous fashion brands, but remember i told you before that it is nearly impossible to recreate exactly same results in photography no matter how hard you try?
There have been many attempts to do Sucker Punch movie based photoshoots, some of them were funny while the others were really impressive. One day i came across a casting on BeScouted where a model was looking for a photographer, makeup artist and hair stylist to impersonate Harley Quinn. I have applied, got approved and here are the results.
It is your judgement if our shot was a Sucker Punch (cold-cock - American English) or did we manage to come up with something interesting.
Most of the images were shot in a studio with Nikon D3s and a 50mm Nikkor lens @ f/8 1/250 iso 200 and Elinchrom Softbox.
