A dusting of snow on Friday gives the environment the ability to capture movements of animals in time, at least temporarily before it melts or is covered by more snow.. animals move without a thought of what might come across their trail and follow it as a guide to their location.
That lack of awareness to their own self, one could relate that to, or not.. or just not the care, who knows. Nothing a lone animal can do when the atmosphere comes together and drops an inch of snow on the ground.
I wonder the fate of this animal, if it made it to its destination or if it was simply wandering, enjoying the snow like us humans might do.. perhaps searching for a meal.
We were expected some major snow last night but that never came together the way it was predicted and ended up being more of a washout.
Which is a big bonus for the mushrooms mycelium growing inside these logs. Would be a blessing to have results by Springtime. I have a few logs that are months ahead and will definitely produce the Shiitake mushrooms come warmer weather..
This little path is a nice little oasis of evergreen conifers in a forest of deciduous trees and gives an all year round protected area. It wasn’t always a cleared walkway with stones and these mushroom logs no.. just a group of grown in trees. One wouldn’t dare try to move through the jagged lower inner dried up limbs of these conifers.. but I hacked em all away with a machete and saw.
It adds a second eggress to the back yard and the farm and prevents people from walking in the grass on the slope, eroding it away, or worse slipping and falling on their bums..
Very peaceful setting.. when the winds are calm. Easy to see out, hard to see in.
