Two of the approximately 10 Humpback Whales Megaptera novaeangliae near the boat today
Today I spent the day birding Acadia National Park and on the Bar Harbor Whale Watching and Puffin's Trip out of Bar Harbor, ME. It was warm day on shore, and a cold day at 30 knots on the catamaran, but a great day. This was my first father's day when I was not with my wife who passed in March, or either of my children as I'm travelling, and so I stuffed the day full of activity to focus on the positive. There was a lot to focus on.
This female Black-throated Green Warbler Megaptera novaeangliae was so intent on gathering nesting material she seemed not to notice this birder taking photos.
Atlantic Puffin Fratercula arctica
It's late, I've had a long day and am beat, so this is a teaser, tomorrow a photo heavy and detailed pelagic trip report with whales.
Until then, good birding. Steem on!
