Male Common Yellowthroat Geothlypis trichas
Today I spent the morning picking up around home to be ready for an open house to show the other residents the renovations completed
recently. Afterthat I went birding for a couple of short stops on my way to Puyallup for Rotary.
Song Sparrow Melospiza melodia
First stop was at the Gog-li-hi-ti mitigated wetlands where a Lark Sparrow had been seen yesterday by Michael Charest and Bruce Labar. No such luck today, but tghe common birds were singing and posing nicely.
The same Common Yellowthroat singing. It has a very easily learned ." song, characterized as "witchity-witchity-witchity."
Next stop was at the 56th Street Stormwater facility where no shorebirds except Killdeer were present, but the Cinnamon Teal Anas discors and Blue-winged Teal remained.
Male Cinnamon Teal Anas cyanoptera
The open house went nicely, and I'm watchin the Mariners vs. Texas Rangers (M's lead 3-1) and NBA Finals game as I write this post.
Good birding. Steem on!
