What Soft, thru Yonder Treeline, Light Breaks
That's a big Whitetail, on the ridgeline!
My recent trip out to find a Short-Earred Owl was a bust!
We were all looking for the big Shorty!!! but... no dice. Probably a hundred photographers, and birders. All of us, shoulder to shoulder. All staring, and talking and, nope, no shorty.

I love hanging with a few photographers, or a few birders, too... But, I am not a fan of big crowds. Everyone elbowing, etc. so, I popped into the car, and moved around the corner, onto the other side of the ridge. it was myself and three others. We never enjoyed the sweet sight of that Short Earred... but I did notice, right at the top of the rdige, this little guy!
The four of us all got a few long distance shots through our telephoto's of the big Buck.

He was moving along the ridge line, and pushing a doe, ahead, about 50 feet in front. It's that time of year, most of the bucks are in rut. It's not a great shot... the sun set. Distance was at the outer edge, and ISO was high, but still, fun, to see him.
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!
