These days I try to spend most of the time outdoors, searching for wild asparagus and photographing with a small compact camera the explosion of colors and life in nature that surrounds me.
Yesterday I went wandering through the vineyards, olive orchards and cabbage fields at the outskirts of town...
...and took a short break to eat the sandwich on one of the many meadows surrounding the cultivated fields...
...but when I decided to take a few photos, just to have a little record of the day...
... I knew that this short break from asparagus searching will be hours long.
The weather was very dynamic. Cloudy with the fast movement of clouds leading to short outbursts of sunshine...
...which is always great for photography.
Just one, maybe two, kilometers distant, the plants, the insects, the colors...and the overall atmosphere of this place is quite different than on the coast...
I found many colorful surprises in the tall grass....like this wild orchid...
and shiny ones...like this metallic green beetle
...and a solid variety of flowers
