Monsoon season is upon us and we eagerly await the refreshing rains to arrive. (This year, with even greater anticipation as we look for the rains to douse the wildfires that have been burning across our state).
Monsoons aren't necessarily geographically all-encompassing. They are cells of intense, rain-laden clouds that manifest over smaller areas at a time. It's not unusual to watch a monsoon pouring out its cargo onto a neighborhood a couple miles away while I bask in the sunshine.
Because of the cloud dispersion (with sunlight) monsoons can present some of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring and breathtaking landscape views one can imagine.
