Once I had a philosophy teacher who gave us an example that made a lot of sense. Pity that "sense" only struck me years after I flunked his class. But that's another story, lol...
His example was something like this:
"Imagine that an alien lands on Earth, but he has a green filter on his eyes, for whatever reason, either if strictly biological, or if his space traveling helmet had it on to protect his vision from other alien destinations/environments (us).
With such a filter he would surely see our colors in a very different way, making his "reality" a lot different than ours. Yet, if he would hit a tree he would still feel the same lovely texture."
The lesson I learned from this example is obvious...
If you're into space traveling get yourself a damn black and white filter on your helmet!!
THAT SMALL GESTURE WILL MAKE A WHOLE LOT OF DIFFERENCE TO US!
