Most people don't think waterfalls, lush green forests, and epic hiking when you hear Ohio let alone Akron.
Akron is known worldwide as the birthplace and home of Lebron James. But he is only one of the many gems Akron has to offer.
The Gorge with its many waterfalls is one of these gems.
Located right on the border of Akron and Cuyahoga Falls, the Gorge has everything from picnic ares, to multiple hiking trails, mountain climbing, waterfall climbs, among many other things.
Luckily for myself to Gorge is right next to me and I take full advantage of it.
I decided to share my jogs/hikes at the Gorge with you after getting interest after I wrote the "What are the Benefits of Running?" post last week.
Trigger, my Norwegian Elkhound puppy (over 1.5 years old), and myself go to the Gorge for runs/hikes multiple times every week. If we are lucky, we do a jog/hike every day there.
The following are the some photographs that I took this morning with my LG phone I think you will like of our jog/hike at the Gorge. As you will see, there is plenty of scenery and epic activities at the Gorge to raise your body's vibrations.
Hopefully these photographs give you an unique perspective about Akron that most people don't realize.
There are plenty of stories going all the way back to Native American chiefs holding tribal counsel meetings here, but we will save that for another post :)
Here is Trigger and I's journey this morning at the Gorge:
Getting ready for the jog
The walk down to the waterfalls
O wee water and waterfalls
Time to cross the falls
That's enough waterfalls for now :)
As close to the falls as you can get. Back in the 80s you could walk underneath here.
On to the next part of the jog/hike
Hope you these photographs of our journey brought some unique perspective to you.
That's what I love about Steemit, so many different people sharing different experiences throughout the world. So why not share mine?
This is only a third of the photographs I took so stay tuned for more about this journey at the gorge. It involves mud, fun, and lots of unique hiking trails and views.
Thank you as always for your time, attention, and support. It means the world to me :)
