πHi guys, as you may already notice on the picture above, my name is Yohan and the lovely lady is my future wife,

On this very post, I will gladly share with you guys about our prewedding photoshoots for our upcoming wedding (wish us for the best, guys :P). Initially, on the beginning of our preparation weβve always had the idea of doing a very simple yet intimate prewedding photoshoot.
Before I continue, I may need to explain how Indonesian society considers prewedding photoshoot as an important aspect in a wedding.

ππππππππππππππππππππ
The sets of pictures are usually posted on social media to announce that a wedding is on the way (it clearly shows how social media is very much a big part of our society, for the good or bad). There will also be a wedding party/reception, where a large number of family and relatives will be invitedβusually held in a venue, in which at the same time a several other events are being held. So these pictures will be displayed on the entrance gate of a wedding party to avoid people getting in a wrong event, literally. Some people also put their prewedding pictures on their invitation card, either printed or digital ones.

Itβs not surprising of how far people would go for a prewedding photoshoot, in terms of efforts and cost. Rented attires, service cost of photography and videography, rented photo venue, etc-etc.
We actually are not the kind of couple who likes getting our picture taken, almost decided not to do a photoshoot. Well, considering the importance I mentioned beforeβwe then came up with this idea to do this as simple as we could, at a place which needs zero effort and zero cost,
π‘YEAH..IT'S OUR HOME!!π‘

HOW MUCH COST??
Prior to the execution, Marietta (without asking for my approval :P) bought our two sets of attire from online marketplace and it costed us for only around 53 USD, and they turned out to be great, I love everything about it! We did not hire a professional photographer, instead we invited my colleague who has developed interest in photography mostly for hobby on his spare time, and a make up artist we found through Instagram who just started building portfolio so she gave us pretty low cost. Both of them costed us 70 USD.
So in total we spent ONLY about 123 USD.
SO, what did we do to maximize the little we had? First theme we did, was a close-up portrait studio-like session. No properties, plain wall, no extra lighting, just some opened windows and sunlight! These are some results from our first session. π

Still on the first theme, we moved on to using some corners of our house and did candid shoots. No rents, just home properties which we could grab around us :D

Okay, move on to the next set of outfit we hadβwhich was more casual and fun. The idea was just to capture some moments we usually spent most of the time when we were together, which includes cuddles, books, and playing music πΈπ½

And thatβs a wrap! We ended keeping the commitment between us of having an original, simple yet intimate prewedding photoshoot session at home! Itβs inexpensive, safe (with Covid-19 still being an issue in our country), yet successfully portrays us and the warmth of our relationship. Anyway again, please wish us luck on our preparation towards the BIG DAY which is next month! Cheers x
