This time of year is a perfect time to visit Sedona, a picturesque city in Arizona. Here is my experience on Fay Canyon Hiking trail - 33 miles south of Flagstaff.
Fay Canyon hiking trail, open year-round, is considered easy to moderate. It's a mostly flat 2.3 mile trek in and out, this trail does not loop. Elevation is 4500 feet.
The Trailhead is accessible from the parking lot located off of Boynton Canyon intersection, you must cross the street to get to the trailhead.

Great news, dogs are welcome on this trail, just keep them on a leash.
This time of year May - October be careful as there are increased encounters and sightings of bears, mountain lions, and other dangerous wildlife.
Beautiful wildflowers can be found throughout the trail.
The entire trail is mostly made up of this soft, red soil...so best not to wear white shoes, like it did!
My niece and I taking in some shade under the large canopy.
I believe this tree had been struck by lightning...the trunk reveals the damage, while still being alive and beautiful.
My Mom, Bro and I... even my 73 year old Mom took the trail like a champ!
As we depart, I'm already planning my next trip to this gorgeous part of Arizona!
Go out and explore!
