Almost every year, my family and I get a visitor that makes home in one of our hanging baskets on our front porch. At the start, the mother would always fly away when we came outside or were anywhere near her and her nest. As time goes by, she starts to be okay with us passing through, and even staying on the porch for extended periods of time. There even comes a point when we can lower the basket with her in it, and she'll stay there, covering the eggs. When they hatch, she lets us lower the basket and see the newborns, expressing her trust in us. It's a perfect example of coexistence.
