In 2015, I was very excited to go to Paris for the Catacombs my Honeymoon.
Between leaving home, getting to the airport, getting to Paris at like 9am, then finally finding our closet sized hotel room- it felt like forever ( I suck at sleeping on flights). We had tickets to the dumb ol' wonderful Eiffel Tower at 1pm. We made that - it had to be 80 degrees, went back to the hotel to get ready for our Catacombs tour at 4pm. One of the best parts of the Catacombs is that the tickets are cheap, I think they were $12 US. We got to the air conditioned hotel room (its only decent amenity) & that $24 meant nothing to me. We crashed for around 15 hours with the intent of getting our breakfast and over to the Catacombs like 90 minutes before opening. Everything worked perfectly- best $24 I ever wasted.
Since this was a self guided tour, I made the average 45 minutes into about 3 hours. I think I went back to the beginning (of the good stuff) at least 3 times. I took a TON of photos, since there was no flash allowed, and I would be flipping out if my photos were out of focus. If you look up other photos, you'll notice a lot of the same skulls because they are the ones near light bulbs.
Like this one with the 'N' or 'Z' marking:
Or the Famous Heart, which isn't easy to shoot since the aisle is narrow:
Here are a few more, I'm sure I'll be posting more in the future:
ALSO if you plan to go, go soon, because it seems like many places like this are starting to stop photography!
