That's really not necessary. You're basically draining the flavour and nutritients from the mushroom by doing this. Cook/Fry them thoroughly for 15 minutes in a pan (goes for almost all mushrooms) and you are fine. I do it like this. ;-)
They have a pretty distinct taste not everybody likes and they don't mix well with other species because they overpower the flavours of other mushrooms, but I do enjoy them. L. nuda is the best of the Lepista species in my opinion.
