Hello everybody,
I have just returned from a visit to Poland where I took my time to wander around the grounds of Auschwitz, the massive concentration camp where millions of people were murdered.
Since virtually everbody knows the cruelty that took place here and know the history behind it, I do not think explanation is needed. I will purely show you how Auschwitz looked this week.
The entry where millions of people passed through, waiting for their death.
Security fences around the grounds, electrified. When you tried to get close, you would get shot immediately.
The famous execution wall where millions of men, women and children would get shot. Either after medical experiments, or just for "fun" as a time waster for SS soldiers..
Afterwards, I went to camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, known as "Auschwitz 2". It is built since Auschwitz 1, pictured above, was too small.
This was a camp purely built to store and kill humans.
The famous entry.. Millions of jews entered through this gate to never return.
An example of a train car where the jews were deported in. Designed for a few, sometimes 50+ people were stowed in there.
One of the barracks all the prisoners would stay in. Beds designed 4, most of the times 10 persons per bed.
The sheer size of Auschwitz-Birkenau..
I think everybody should visit this place in their lives sometime. It is a horrible but interesting and educative place on how humanity should respect eachother instead of promoting hate.
My visit really opened my eyes and really changed me. One of the most gruesome parts are the gas chambers and ovens, where the nails of the victims are still engraved in the wall, scratching it due to pure panic and pain...
Thank you for reading.
