As soon as spring comes, one of the most beautiful seasons for bird watching begins - the mating season. This time I focused on Goldeneyes that I noticed on one of the ponds in the area.
Goldeneye (Bucephala Clangula) is a duck with a fairly large head and short neck. The beak is short and small. The golden iris of the eye is visible. The head of the mating male is black with a green, metallic sheen.

Jak tylko przychodzi wiosna zaczyna się jeden z najpiękniejszych sezonów na podglądanie ptaków tzw. gody.Tym razem skupiłem się na gągołach, które zauważyłem na jednym ze stawów w okolicy.
Gągoł (Bucephala clangula) to kaczka o dość dużej głowie i krótkiej szyi. Dziób jest mały i krótki. Rzuca się w oczy złota tęczówka oka. Głowa samca w szacie godowej jest czarna z zielonym, metalicznym połyskiem.
This is a migratory bird. During the breeding season, it lives in pairs, and besides, it merges into herds. This duck dives for food. It swims in a deep submersion.
To ptak wędrowny. Podczas okresu lęgowego żyje w parach, poza tym łączy się w stada. Kaczka ta nurkuje za pokarmem. Pływa w głębokim zanurzeniu.
This duck nests in hollows. The day after hatching, the cubs jump out of the hollow and go to the water. After 8-9 weeks from hatching, they are able to fly. They are able to obtain food on their own the day after hatching, but they usually stay close to their mother.
Kaczka ta gniazduje w dziuplach. Dzień po wykluciu młode wyskakują z dziupli i udają się nad wodę. Po 8-9 tygodniach od wyklucia się potrafią już latać. Pokarm potrafią zdobywać samodzielnie już następnego dnia po wykluciu, ale trzymają się zwykle blisko matki.
When it comes to my experience with photographing these birds, usually after recognizing in which region of the pond ducks like to stay, I start my expedition before sunrise to the pond shore (so as not to scare the birds away) and in camouflage I wait on the shore until they come closer.
Jeśli chodzi o moje doświadczenia związane z fotografowaniem tych ptaków to zazwyczaj po rozpoznaniu w jakim regionie stawu lubią przebywać kaczki wyprawę zaczynam jeszcze przed wschodem słońca nad brzeg stawu (żeby nie spłoszyć ptaków) i w kamuflażu czekam na brzegu aż się zbliżą.
