I saw the remains of this old house deep in the woods on my hike last weekend. All that remains are a couple of walls and a freestanding chimney where another wing of the house used to be. The vandals have added some graffiti, and aging cedar shingles and window framing had an interesting patina which I enhanced with some editing. At one point this house might have been considered a “fixer upper”. That opportunity is long past. Nature is quick to reclaim what humans ignore.
There was another house a short walk away, probably a relative. They were both probably farm houses at some point since they had their own fuel pump, still standing, but a nicely coated rusty red.
