On this day the plan was to ride the Banff Gondola, so we did! Drive out to Banff from Calgary takes about 1 hour. As Canada celebrates it's 150th birthday, all entrance fees to Banff National Park are free and complimentary for the entire year, which made for extra traffic in the park. So it did take about 90 minutes to reach the Gondola, but is was absolutely worth it!
After the amazing Gondola ride and walk, we stopped by the Sundance Canyon trail which starts at the Cave and Basin Historic site, spent about an hour on the trail, which runs along the Bow River at some points, and returned back. Kids were tired (I could have kept going though), so back to Calgary!
