Good morning folks,
Once again i was browsing my archives earlier today and came across some photos i took during fleet week in
San Francisco back in 2005.
The whole event came as a surprise to me, because although being an aviation nut, i never checked if anything was happening in town, it was only when all of a sudden the Blue Angels thundered over my head, that i realized something was indeed going on :-)
The setting in the Bay was just perfect on a bright sunny autumn day and my favourite moment, wasn´t the Red Bull Air Race, all the Vessels on the water, or even the Blue Angels display itself, but the show their United States Marine Corps Lockheed C-130T Hercules, nicknamed "Fat Albert" put on.
It sneaked up to the bay from behind Alcatraz and made a high speed low pass towards the surprised crowds and i managed to get one half decent shot, and while the quality isn´t that great (moment of surprise + 2005!) i managed to include part of Alcatraz and the famous lighthouse.
I was really thrilled afterwards and won´t forget that experience for sure.
Hope you like it,
cheers,
Denis
