When I started on Steemit 45 days ago, I never thought my journey would have taken the path that it has. I originally joined as a place to share my photography from Africa and maybe some of my other photos that I have been taking, but I was quickly introduced to so many other opportunities for me to grow, from writing, film, art, to poetry. The possibilities for a creative on this platform are endless.

I have been overwhelmed with the incredible community that is on the Steemit platform. I have been welcomed into many different Discord channels and met many great people. has been such an inspiration to me with his daily poetry writings, and ever since I met him, I have pushed myself to write more intellectually because he is an artist with his pen and paper. If you have not given him a follow, I highly recommend you do because he writes some of the most thought provoking poems I have ever read.
I have met so many other people through and his daily contests. If you are a fan of photography and you are not following him yet, he hosts daily photography contests where some of the best photographers on Steemit share their travel photography from all over the world. I recommend following him and sharing your photography in his contests for the Steemit community to see. He has just over 8,000 and is going to reach 10,000 in no time.
There are also the members of the Veteran Community that I have met while I have been here. We usually put up walls when it comes to meeting new people, but when I am with these brothers in arms, we are a great support for each other and I appreciate each and every one of you. ,
,
,
, and
, you all have been an awesome support group for me so far.
Photo I took of Lynn during filming of War-Torn
I recently decided to release my film titled War-Torn: The Story of "Dobie" Gillies here on Steemit and I was blown away by the reception that it got. wrote an amazing poem here to help promote here to promote the release. Then a day later
contacted me about it and spent some time with me finalize the post for
and
to review it. I later found out that the film had been curated and was one of the highest voted posts from the Curie Guild. That was an amazing feeling to know that this film was going to be spread to such a wide audience. Then the comments of support for the film started flowing on the post's comment section. There were comments about how the film had touched them and stories of Veterans that they knew that had suffered and comments from fellow Veterans that were suffering and that the film had helped them. It is a great feeling to know that all the time spent working on this film with Lynn has been able to help people.
One of the other people that has made my firsts 45 days of Steemit awesome is . Not only does she have cool contests that give back to the Steemit community, but she also sends prizes to you in the mail, so it is a double bonus. I just received a pack of Steemit playing cards from her in the mail box today as a reminder of how great this community is.
, like I told you in the package I sent you, thank you for making my Steemit journey awesome.
For me, these past 45 days have been a blur of awesomeness, but this is just the beginning for me. I have some big plans for Steemit and I am here to stay. The community is great. I also want to thank for showing me around when I first got here on Steemit and introducing me to the Veteran community and for running the best radio shows on MSP Radio. Thank you all for taking the time to read about my journey thus far and if you want to see where this journey takes me, make sure to give me a follow. Big things are coming.
Thank you for stopping by
