A few years ago some friends and I trekked up north to Alaska to conquer the road to the midnight sun. We left Edmonton in a beat up SUV and drove to the northern coast of Alaska, all the way down to Homer, and back again to Edmonton. It was a long journey of over 11,000 km in only 10 short days. With only 3 drivers, we had to take turns driving and sleeping to fit it all in. You can imagine how desperate we were for good coffee!
Speaking of good coffee... all of you Canadian coffee lovers will know that you can find a Tim Hortons practically in every nook and cranny of Canada. This is very unfortunate since Tim Hortons coffee tastes like warmed over cat piss on a good day.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that in Alaska you can stumble on a little espresso shack even on an old lonely highway. They have these little outbuildings that function like mini specialty coffee drive-thru shops. Well guess what.. it turned out to be one helluva wired drive all the way back to the Yukon.
