Today a short itinerary to the Geisleralm.
Starting point is the Zanser Alm in Villnöss right after the small village of St. Magdalena in northern Italy.
The parking place costs around 6 Euro for the whole day and after 1 pm only 3 Euro.
Alternatively it is possible to start at Ranui right below Zans, but it is longer and doesn't offer the same nice view.
Or you can take also the public bus which brings you directly there.
little Church at Ranui with Geisler mountains in the background
From parking you can simple follow the signs at it is very clear and you can't miss the way.
After a short walk you get to the a first hut were you can get some drink or food. From there you can take the Alfred Munkel path which brings you right along the impressive mountains am Fuß der Geisler.

The Gschnagenhartalm is very close from Geisleralm
Mittagsscharte and way to the top of the mountains
Hiking from Zanser to Geisleralm takes about 1,5 hours and you have to overcome a difference in height of about 300 meters . So it's suitable for everyone.
Climbing to the more than 3000 meters high tops of the mountains, for example Sass Rigais takes around 7-8 hours and can be quite difficult. In any case an appropriate safety equipment is necessary.
It is very impressive as a viewpoint once you reached it.
