As I sit on the couch and ponder the candy cane gently hanging from the leaves of a Christmas Tree, a sadness hits me that it is time to take these decorations down. The Epiphany is over and our last group of family members exchanged gifts. The Epiphany is celebrated every year on January 6th. This day marks the celebration of Jesus' birth and His baptism by John The Baptist. An article by Jen McCaffery and Meghan Jones pointed out that "the twelve days of Christmas (from December 25th until January 6th) mark the amount of time it took after the birth of Jesus for the wise men to travel to Bethlehem for the Epiphany when they recognized Him as the son of God." This picture, I believe, captures my somber moment.
