We have an Arboretum (tree museum) near our home and I love visiting with my camera to see what I can find. Sometimes it's large, wide-shots. You can't go out on an excursion with "one shot" in mind, but need to keep an open mind to see what you can find.
Sometimes it's looking down to see what is at your feet.
While walking around, I saw some squirrels playing. One would run up the tree and another would follow. They would wrap around the tree chasing each other. Then there was this little guy who was just interested in eating nuts. He didn't mind being just feet away from me.
I tried some black and white images as well as sepia toned.
When heading back to my car, I saw this stand of trees and knew there was a shot somewhere over there. There a few ladies out taking photos as well. While I walking into the woods, one woman stood on the road and I wonder what kind of photo she got. Somehow I don't think she was looking creatively at this scene. I moved around to get just the right angle and upon reviewing them at home, I ended up throwing out several.
Here is a comparison of B&W and color. I like the color, but I also like how the sky pops in the black and white image. Share your thoughts with me. Which do you prefer?
Thanks for taking a look.
